Sergeant's Pet Care Products
Sergeant's Pet Care Products became Sowell & Co.'s third acquisition in the pet food and supplies industry. Acquired in September 2000, Sergeant's was founded in Richmond, Virginia in 1868 by Polk Miller, who formulated and sold medications for hunting dogs through his drug store. He selected the brand name "Sergeant's" after his favorite Labrador Retriever and began selling his products through other drug store outlets throughout Virginia. By 1926, Sergeant's products were available throughout the United States.
Sergeant's has a broad product line of pet supplies with a special focus on flea and tick remedies, health and well-being products, natural treats, toys, bird and small animal products, and other accessories. Sergeant's brands include Sergeant's, Pre-Tect, Vetscriptions Health Care for Pets, Uncle Sam's, Old West, Bansect, and Geisler, Nature's Guardian, Sentry Pro.
Sergeant's is based in Omaha, Nebraska, with manufacturing and distribution facilities in Greeley, Colorado and Memphis, Tennessee. Its products are sold in most grocery and drug chain stores, mass merchandise stores, and pet stores throughout the U.S. and internationally in 25 countries.

Headquartered in Dallas, TX, Home Healthcare Partners is in the business of providing skilled nursing and therapy services to medicare patients in a home setting. Through its 30 locations in Texas and Louisiana, Home Healthcare Partners serves over 3000 patients at any given time. The original group of companies were brought to Sowell & Co. by industry veterans in 2003. Since that time 10 additional acquisitions have been added to Home Healthcare Partners along with investments in technology. These commitments have allowed it to become a pre-eminent, fast growing provider of quality healthcare.
American Integrity Insurance
American Integrity Insurance Group was founded by CEO Bob Ritchie and Sowell & Co. in 2006 to provide insurance to homeowners in the State of Florida after many insurance companies left Florida due to the hurricanes that hit the state in the summer of 2005 and 2006. The Company, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, now insures 90,000 homeowners and $20 billion dollars in property in the state and generates over $125 million in premiums.
Ophthalmic Innovations International
Ophthalmic Innovations International was founded in 1989 with the goal of producing the highest quality products in the ophthalmic market. An early innovator in the use of computer-controlled manufacturing of intraocular lenses(IOL), OII has always viewed exceptional quality as the foundation of its customer satisfaction efforts.
As the first intraocular lens(IOL) manufacturer in the United States to be awarded CE (Europe's FDA equivalent) registration, OII has a record of achievement matched by few in the industry. Today OII offers a full line of IOLs and ophthalmic surgical products.
OII employs 200 people at its FDA-approved, 30,000 sq ft facility. In addition to its own machine shop and class 10,000 clean room, this facility features 3-shift production, with a 1,000,000 unit capacity, including a unique production line for "PU.R.E. System" hydrophilic products.
